UniCAP™ means a revolutionary improvement in the orthopedic world. It’s a brand-new Arthroscopic-assisted Knee Resurfacing (AKR) method for the medial and lateral knee compartment and gives the active 45+er with knee and joint problems the solution to stay active and do exercise, without undergoing a major surgical operation.

Thanks to UniCAP™, the patient can move and do exercise after the surgical intervention and rehabilitation period, without dealing with any discomfort. Therefore the UniCAP™ goes further than the already existing methods: the meniscus and a maximum of articular cartilage are retained and the inlay components are adjusted to the anatomy of the patient. In this way a maximum quantity of bone is preserved, which is important for possible future major surgical operations.

Wednesday the 5th of November, there will be for the first time in the Benelux a knee surgery with the UniCAP™ performed by Dr. Bruno Vandekerckhove.
